Multi-disciplinary Innovation for Social Change” (SHIINE)

Objectives: to demonstrate, through the adoption of Multi-Disciplinary Innovation methods, how we can respond to social problems with a design-led approach which has a problem-oriented ethos, supporting positive social change and the development of international public policy discourse.

 

Knowledge Transfer from universities to business – innovation to unicorn

The UNIcorn project has four main objectives: develop and strengthen technology transfer processes in participating HEIs, enhance entrepreneurial education, strengthen technology transfer partnerships, improve the impact framework of technology transfer and entrepreneurial education. 

 

KNowledgE alliance for Social Innovation in Shrinking villages

Objectives: The main aim of KiNESIS is to create a Knowledge Alliance among academia, NGOs, communities, local authorities, businesses to develop a program of multidisciplinary activities in shrinking areas with the aim of promoting and fostering ideas, projects, workforce, productivity and attractiveness.

 

Kick-starting the nascent social finance market in Estonia

Objectives: The main goal of the project was to achieve cooperation between various sectors and stakeholders in developing the current situation of social entrepreneurship in Estonia. The project engaged with representatives of businesses, non-profit organizations, scientists, investors, representatives of banks and local as well as national-level policy makers. 

 

Co-creation of Service Innovation in Europe (CoSIE)

Objectives: The CoSIE project contributed to democratic dimensions and social inclusion through co-creating public services by engaging diverse citizen groups and stakeholders. Utilizing blended data sources (open data, social media) with innovative deployment of ICT (data-analytics, Living Lab, Community reporting) in nine pilots, the project introduced the culture of experiments that encompasses various stakeholders for co-creating service innovations.

LIFE - 6 ECTS

The student can make connections and can analyze the goals of the project and their possible solutions from the perspective of one’s own as well as that of other fields.

Core courses - 66 ECTS

The student has systemic knowledge of social and environmental problems, and is able to analyse societal processes. Is able to use theoretical knowledge in social entrepreneurship.

Master’s thesis seminar - 6 ECTS

The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for planning and conducting social entrepreneurship related master's thesis.
