As a student of the Social Entrepreneurship Masters Program, I’ve had some amazing opportunities to grow my own business. From being guided to draft a business plan, to verifying the research that supports my approach. I’ve created a marketing plan, written my impact report, and pitched my project in front of a jury. I’ve learned about ethical business management and open innovation systems… All in all, I’ve gathered a comprehensive toolbox to verify, strategize, develop, and grow my business.
LIFE Project Fall 2023/2024
But of all things, my favorite project was the LIFE Project, which I was able to supervise and coordinate myself. After I put the project description online, I was super curious to see who would sign up for it. Soon all six spots filled up, and the students couldn’t have been more perfect: three audiovisual media students, two communication management students, and one youth worker.
We came up with a plan to bring Yanantin Alpaca to the next level. We came up with a detailed approach to increase the brand’s awareness, to reach out to potential collaborators, and to create the most beautiful content—in style. And by that, I mean: according to our very own style guide. And of course by producing stylish content, using the skills of the audiovisual media students—which was fantastic.
Professional Content
Together with their friends and my products, we had a professional video shoot in Telliskivi and in a real studio. The next week, we went to an alpaca farm in Estonia, where we got the most beautiful shots of real alpacas—and where we established a useful connection with the alpaca farmer. And after that, we recorded a voice over in a professional sound studio.
The result? Professional footage that can be used on a bunch of different platforms. From a fancy brand video to product videos and tons of footage to share on social media. Additionally: the outcomes of the project were a detailed publishing schedule including all the different social media channels and best practices. And finally, a style guide with a brand new logo and matching brand colors.
All in all… A priceless experience that I wouldn’t have had without being part of the Social Entrepreneurship Masters Program.
Eveline Vente, SEMA alumnus
Yanantin Alpaca is a Social Enterprise. A sustainable brand of alpaca woolen products, made to empower women in Peru. With a great salary, flexible working hours, and training. I started Yanantin after having lived in South America for five years. Eager to create a positive impact, the embeddedness in the local culture and my personal network kept me going to continue working on my brand. However, the SEMA program has really helped me develop and grow Yanantin Alpaca. More information? Go to shop.yanantin-alpaca.com or follow us on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok. |
